Patna. It has become very easy to set up textile and leather industries in Bihar. The Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy (Textiles and Leather) Policy 2022 was approved in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday. Under this, the government will give 15% capital grant for setting up textile and leather industries in the state, which will be a maximum of Rs 10 crore. Apart from this, the government will give incentives amounts from 3000 to 5000 rupees per worker every month, an exemption in electricity bill, 30% freight and patent subsidy for export. To take advantage of these facilities, an application has to be made by June 30, 2023.

An annual grant of Rs 10 lakh will be given

After the cabinet meeting, Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet, said that in the present era, industries are now turning towards India instead of China. In view of this, the Bihar government has approved this new policy. Under this, the units setting up textile and leather industries in Bihar will get maximum benefit in the country. He said that in addition to the 15% capital grant, if a unit exports, then it will be given a reimbursement of 30% in freight up to cargo like Kolkata, Mumbai or a grant of Rs 10 lakh annually.

Will get incentive amount every month

At the same time, on depositing incentive amount or EPF from three to five thousand per worker per month, the amount of pay scale up to 300% will be given. Apart from this, a rebate of Rs 2 per unit will be given in the electricity bill. 10 lakh per patent will also be given annually in the form of patent subsidy. These benefits will be given to these industries in addition to the exemptions given in the Industrial Policy 2016.

The Additional Chief Secretary said that to take advantage of these exemptions, an application will have to be made by June 30, 2023. Units applying within a year will get this benefit continuously for five years. Those units, which have taken Phase-I approval before the date of notification of this policy, will also get benefits under this policy. Before this, under the Industrial Policy of the year 2016, those setting up industries in the state get 10% benefit of interest subsidy up to 20 crores. Also 100% reimbursement is done in GST.

Textile Park to be built on 1700 acres in Bettiah

Additional Chief Secretary Dr S Siddhartha informed that a proposal for setting up of 1700 acres of Textile Park in Bettiah has been sent to the Central Government. If this is approved, then a textile park will be built there. Apart from this, a textile park will also be built on the land of Biada in the state. Apart from this, if any person wants to make his own park, then the government will give relief to him too.
