Search for mastermind Hayat Zafar Hashmi continues.

After Friday prayers, miscreants ransacked more than a dozen vehicles, and injured more than 35 people in stone-pelting. The police have so far named 36 people in the case, while 18 people have been arrested. A total of three FIRs have been registered in the case. This morning the Police Commissioner and DM tried to gather more information by marching on foot and interrogating people.

Actually, demonstrations were held after Friday prayers against the remarks on Prophet Muhammad. During this, a crowd of thousands of people who came on the streets threw stones and bombed. The miscreants started vandalizing many vehicles. It is reported that 35 people were injured in this stone-pelting. After the violence, the police has started searching for Hayat Zafar Hashmi, president of MMA Johar Fans Association, who is said to be the mastermind of the incident.

Kanpur turned into a cantonment after the violence

On the Kanpur incident, ADG Prashant Kumar said that some people tried to close the shop, which was opposed by the people of the other side, due to which there was an incident of confrontation and stone-pelting. The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received and controlled the situation and 12 company PACs have been dispatched to the spot. At the same time, he also talked about taking strict action against those who spoil the atmosphere.

Identification of miscreants continues through photographs and videos

ADG Prashant Kumar said that the miscreants are being identified. We have arrested 18 people so far. Gangster action will be taken against the conspirators along with miscreants and their properties will be confiscated or demolished. On the other hand, Kanpur Police Commissioner Vijay Meena told that some chaotic elements tried to take out a procession and during that time a crowd gathered. About 10 policemen were already posted here. We have identified people with videos and photographs and action will be taken against them too.
