Demand for a CBI inquiry into the murder of Musewala

A leader of the BJP's Punjab unit on Friday moved the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the killing of singer Sidhu Musewala. The petition filed by Jagjit Singh said that the involvement of inter-state and international criminals is suspected in the murder of Moosewala, hence the investigation of the matter should be done by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It said that the state administration had not only "miserably failed" in curbing the crime, but had also failed to stop the clash of gangs creating an "atmosphere of fear and terror" in Punjab.
