After about two months, this new rate will be effective in Bihar. After this increase, about three crore laborers of the state will get benefit. After this increase, the workers will get at least 48 rupees more than the existing rate.

Labor Minister Jivesh Kumar said that the proposal to increase the rates of minimum wages has been approved. Under this, the minimum wages of unskilled workers will now be increased to Rs 366 per day. He said that after the recommendation made in the meeting of the Minimum Wage Advisory, the government has approved the proposal for re-fixation of the basic wages of the unorganized workers. Under this, the benefit of the new basic wage of the minimum wage of the workers is being given, giving additional economic benefits by integrating the basic rate of minimum wages and dearness allowance as prevailing earlier.

Minimum wage will be Rs 366 

According to the Labor Resources Department, there is a re-fixation of the basic wages of wages at an interval of five years, but in view of the inflation, the council has recommended a 15 percent increase in the basic wages of the workers this time. Under the proposal, the basic rate of minimum wages and dearness allowance will be included and the benefit of new basic pay of minimum wages of workers will be given while giving 15 percent additional economic benefit on it. With its implementation, the minimum wage of unskilled workers in normal work will increase to Rs 366 per day, which is currently only Rs 318.

Notification will be issued after suggestion

The minister said that the benefit of this scheme will be available to all the unorganized unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers of the state. The benefit of the increased rate of wages will be available to various types of workers employed in 88 employments including construction workers, domestic workers, agricultural workers. In relation to the increased wages, suggestions of the general public including labor representatives will be put on the online portal. Final notification will be issued after receiving the suggestions.
