Amidst the growing transition of the corona in the country, states have begun to take stern steps while increasing their activism. According to data from the Union Ministry of Health, the total number of infected people in India has crossed 1 crore 21 lakh 49 thousand 335. In view of the ever-increasing corona infection, several states including UP, MP, Punjab, Gujarat have decided to re-close school-colleges.

In Punjab, the state government has extended the restrictions already issued till 10 April. At the same time, the Uttar Pradesh government has also ordered the schools up to class 8 to be closed till April 4. Other educational institutions in the state will be opened with strict adherence to the Kovid-19 protocol. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, it was decided to hold offline classes from 1st to 8th class till April 15. Let us know what is the situation of other states.

Schools up to 8th will be closed till 4th April in Uttar Pradesh

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting at his residence on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 to ascertain the condition of the corona epidemic in the state. In the meeting, it was decided to keep the schools closed till April 4 till the 8th grade. However, the state already had orders to keep the schools closed till 31 March. In such a situation, many private schools are preparing to start classes for the new academic session from April 5. 

School college closed till 10 April in Punjab

The Punjab government has decided to keep schools and colleges closed till April 10 in view of the increasing Corona cases. The restrictions that were in place were till 31 March, which has been extended 10 days further. Officials say that by mid-May in the state, new cases are expected to decline. In such a situation, CM Amarinder Singh has ordered to increase the corona examination and vaccination. Punjab is currently in the list of the top 6 states with the second-fastest wave of corona virus.

All classes up to 8th in Madhya Pradesh closed till April 15

In Madhya Pradesh, all classes up to the 8th will be closed till April 15. The order issued on Tuesday by the Sanjay Goel, Secretary, Madhya Pradesh School Education Department, said, "Schools from 1st to 8th were kept closed from March 31, 2021 as per the decision taken in the review meeting of the department on December 4, 2020. Which has been reduced to 15 April 2021 in view of the ever-increasing infectious cases. At the same time, classes 9th to 12th will start from April 01. However, parental permission will be required for the offline class.

Schools in eight municipal areas in Gujarat closed till 10 April

In view of the growing threat of Corona, a decision has been taken to close schools located in eight municipal areas of the state till 10 April. These include Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, and the state capital Gandhinagar. However, schools for classes 9 and 11 have reopened in February with limited staff members and corona virus precautions. Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama had said that school staff and students have to wear masks, maintain physical distance and thermal checking is mandatory to record the temperature.

Schools up to 8th will not open in Delhi right now 

The new academic session is going to start on April 1, but the Delhi government has already made it clear that schools up to 8th will not be opened amidst increasing number of coronavirus infections. The new session will be started online. However, the Delhi Parents Association has said that given the current situation it was the right decision not to open the school, but it should have been applicable to the students of classes 9 and 11 as well.

Schools in Tamil Nadu closed till further orders

Tamil Nadu has also ordered the closure of schools for classes 9, 10, and 11 from March 22 until further orders.

All educational institutions closed in Telangana

All the educational institutions (schools, colleges, hostels, gurukul institutes) in Telangana except medical colleges have been closed due to fast growth in Covid-19 cases.

School closed in Chhattisgarh till further notice

Due to increasing cases of corona virus, Chhattisgarh also announced the closure of the school till further notice. CM Bhupesh Baghel has decided to promote the students of all classes except those studying in 10th and 12th standard to the next class without examination.

All educational institutions in Himachal Pradesh closed till 4 April

The Himachal Pradesh government has ordered closure of all educational institutions including universities, colleges, technical institutes and schools by April 4 as a precaution due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the state.

School closed in Maharashtra

Schools in Pune, Latur, Palghar are closed till 31 March due to the latest cases of coronaviruses. In the state, the day-to-day cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday have come down drastically. On Tuesday, 27,918 new cases were reported, whereas two days earlier this number was more than 40,000.

Board examinations in Punjab and Telangana also postponed

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), also postponed the board exams of class 10 and class 12. Earlier, the scheduled class 10 examinations were postponed from 9 April to 4 May, while the scheduled class 12 examinations from 22 March to 20 April were postponed. At the same time, the Telangana government has postponed all the ongoing and scheduled examinations of degree, postgraduate (PG), and other programs due to the closure of educational institutions in the state.
