The cases of corona infection have decreased slightly compared to the last few days, but the death toll has once again crossed three hundred. After nearly three and a half months, more than three and a half hundred people have died in one day. Active cases are also increasing due to more people getting infected than those recovering and their number has crossed five and a half lakhs.

Educational institutions closed in these states

In view of increasing cases of infection, several states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat have decided to re-close school-colleges. Educational institutions in Himachal Pradesh have been discharged till April 4. Not only this, the state government has also banned the transfer of doctors.

Steps taken by Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan

The Punjab government has extended the restrictions already issued by the state government till 10 April. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that if the situation does not improve in a week, more stringent restrictions will be implemented. It has been decided to keep the curfew in Chhattisgarh from nine in the morning to six in 20 districts. These include Raipur, Jashpur, Surguja, Surajpur and Sukma.

Lockdown in Nandurbar

The lockdown has been announced from midnight of 31 March in Nandurbar, Maharashtra. It will run until 15 April. Several states including Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have imposed night curfew in many cities facing infection. Night curfew has been imposed in Rajasthan, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Sagwara, Kushalgarh Chittorgarh, Abu Road.

Night curfew in four metros of Gujarat till 15 April

The Gujarat government has extended the night curfew till April 15 in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot in view of increasing cases of corona infection. According to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, the curfew time will be from 9 am to 6 am. There are currently more than 12 thousand active cases in the state.

53,480 new cases found 

According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday, 53,480 new cases have been detected across the country during the last 24 hours, the highest being 27,918 in Maharashtra, 3,108 in Chhattisgarh and 2,975 in Karnataka. During this period, 354 people have died and 41,280 patients have been cured.

355 died on 17 December last year

Earlier, on December 17 last year, 355 people had died. The figure of total infected has crossed one crore 21 lakh 49 thousand. Out of these, more than one crore 14 lakh 34 thousand patients have been completely cured and 1,62,468 people have lost their lives.

10.22 lakh samples examined on Tuesday

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 10,22,915 samples were tested across the country on Tuesday to detect corona infection. Together, a total of more than 24.36 crore samples have been tested so far.

Active case exceeded 5.50 lakhs

According to the ministry, there has been an increase of 11,846 active cases during the last 24 hours. At present, there are a total of 5,52,566 active cases, which is 4.55 percent of the total infected people. Only five states have 79.30 per cent active cases. These states include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab and Chhattisgarh. Of these, Maharashtra alone has 61 percent active cases.

Scare in Delhi as well 

Deaths are also increasing in the national capital as the corona cases increase. On Wednesday, 1,819 new cases of corona were reported. In the last 24 hours, 399 patients recovered and 11 patients died. This death toll is the highest in the last 77 days. Earlier, on January 13, 11 patients died in one day.  

Former PM Deve Gowda and his wife infected

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and his wife have also been found infected with Corona. Deve Gowda, 87, gave this information by tweeting himself on Wednesday. The former PM said that they have moved to Quarantine along with other family members. He has also asked people in close contact with him to conduct an investigation in recent times. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Deve Gowda and inquired about his and his wife's health. The PM has wished him a quick recovery.

Rashmi Thackeray admitted to hospital

Rashmi Thackeray, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai late on Tuesday night. Rashmi Thackeray was found infected with Corona on 23 March. Since then she was in quarantine at home, but due to phlegm problem, she has to be hospitalized. Earlier, CM son and state minister Aditya Thackeray was also found infected. Let us know that Uddhav and Rashmi Thackeray took the first dose of anti-corona vaccine on 11 March.
