The second wave of the Corona epidemic is under control. New cases of infection are increasing indiscriminately. On Saturday, not only this year, but after the last six months, for the first time, about 90 thousand cases were reported in one day and more than seven hundred people died. In the last 52 days, active cases have increased five-fold. Earlier there were intimidating figures from Maharashtra and Kerala, gradually increasing the number of such states to eight and now their number has increased to 12, in which Uttar Pradesh has also been added.
Nearly 90 thousand new patients found in 24 hours, 714 died
According to data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Saturday morning, 89,129 new cases of corona infection were reported in the last 24 hours, 714 people died and 44,202 patients were completely infection-free. Earlier, on September 20 last year, 92,605 were infected and on October 21 more people died. The number of total infected has increased to more than one crore 23 lakh 92 thousand. Out of these, more than one crore 15 lakh 69 thousand patients have been completely cured and 1,64,110 have lost their lives. The recovery rate of patients has come down to 93.36 percent and the death rate is 1.32 percent.
Active cases increased for the 24th consecutive day
According to the ministry, active cases have been increasing for 24 consecutive days. At present, the number of active cases has increased to 6,58,909, which is 5.32 percent of the total infected people. On 12 February this year, active cases fell to 1,35,926, which was 1.25 percent of the total infected.24.69 crore samples tested so far across the country
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 24.69 crore samples have been tested across the country so far to detect corona infection. These include 10.46 lakh samples tested on Friday.
Maharashtra has highest corona cases and deaths, Thackeray signs lockdown
There are 81.42 per cent new cases from eight states including Maharashtra. These include Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra has the highest number of 47,913 cases and 481 deaths and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has again hinted for a lockdown if the situation does not improve.

There are 4,991 new cases from Karnataka and 4,147 from Chhattisgarh. 57 patients have died in Punjab, 43 in Chhattisgarh, 16-16 in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and 14-14 in Kerala and Delhi. More than three thousand new cases have also been found in Uttar Pradesh and more than 12 thousand new cases have increased in the state in a single month. Apart from these eight states, there is a trend of increasing cases in Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan and Kerala.
No deaths due to epidemic in 24 hours in 13 states
In 13 states and union territories of the country, no one has died in the last one day due to the corona epidemic. These include Odisha, Assam, Ladakh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
