The situation of the corona epidemic in the country has become very serious. For the first time, more than one lakh new cases have been reported in a day and the total number of infected has crossed 125 million. However, the number of deaths has decreased compared to the last two days. However, active cases are increasing rapidly and currently, their figure has crossed seven lakhs. In Maharashtra, the situation is becoming uncontrollable due to Corona infection. To overcome the worsening situation, the Maharashtra government has announced a 'weekend weekend'.

1,03,764 new cases in the country 

According to information received from news agencies and other sources till 11 pm on Sunday night, 1,03,764 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, 477 people have died and 52,825 people have been cured. Officially, more than 97 thousand new cases were found in a single day so far on September 17 last year. However, according to other sources, more than one lakh new cases have been received once more in September last year.

Infectious figures exceed 125 million 

In this way, the total number of infected people in the country has exceeded 1.25 billion, out of which about 1.17 crore patients have been cured and 1,65,132 people have lost their lives. There have been 7,37,876 active cases. Earlier, according to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry at eight in the morning, the total number of infected people was 1.24 crore, the number of cured people was 1.16 crore and the number of dead was 1,64,623 whereas, the active cases were 6,91,597.

Things are getting serious in 15 states

The situation in 15 states and union territories of the country, including Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, is constantly getting serious. These states are Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Telangana, Punjab and Haryana. Out of these, more than three thousand cases have been reported in eight states and more than one and a half thousand cases have been reported in the remaining states except Telangana.

57,074 new cases in Maharashtra

Maharashtra has the highest number of 57,074 new cases and 222 deaths. Never before had more cases been reported in the state. There have been 5,250 cases in Chhattisgarh and 36 people have lost their lives. Similarly, Karnataka has 4,553 cases and 15 deaths, Uttar Pradesh 4,164 cases and 31 deaths, Delhi has 4,033 cases and 21 deaths, Tamil Nadu has 3,581 and 14 deaths and Punjab has 3,006 new cases and 51 deaths.

Weekend Lockdown in Maharashtra

To overcome the ever-worsening situation in Maharashtra, the Government of Maharashtra has announced a partial lockdown on other days with a 'weekend lockdown'. Weekend lockdown will be from eight o'clock on Friday night to seven o'clock in the morning and 'partial lockdown' on Monday to 8 o'clock in the morning from seven in the morning. The statement issued by the government said that the situation will be reviewed on April 15.

Covid test compulsory for those coming from outside in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government has also made the RT-PCR test mandatory for people entering the state and traveling abroad. Not only this, classes from 1st to 9th have been suspended. Restaurants and restaurants have been asked to abide by the night curfew, excluding delivery services. The government has directed to keep a strict vigil on the borders. 

Instructions to close schools in Jammu and Kashmir 

Instructions have been issued to close schools in Jammu and Kashmir amid the second wave of Corona. In Jammu and Kashmir, heading towards Lockdown-2, schools from first to ninth grade have been closed for two weeks and schools from 10th to 12th for one week. Not only this, only 200 people will be able to attend the celebrations. 

11.66 lakh samples tested on Saturday

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, or ICMR, 11,66,716 samples were tested across the country on Saturday to detect corona infection. Together, a total of more than 24.81 crore samples have been tested so far.

Sustainable conditions in these states 

However, there is some relief that a total of 14 states and union territories including Odisha, Ladakh, Puducherry, including almost all the states in the northeast, have not lost their lives due to the epidemic in the last one day.

PM Modi reviewed the situation 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with high officials on Sunday to review the situation. PM Modi called for a five-point strategy to prevent corona infection i.e. testing, tracing, treatment, proper covid behavior, and vaccination. Not only this, in the states where more cases are coming out, instructions have been given to immediately leave the central teams. Prime Minister Modi said that the fight against Corona should continue in mission mode.
