Five states - Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Punjab - contribute 75.88 percent of the total cases of the country. Maharashtra alone accounts for 58.23 percent of the cases under treatment. In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,16,82,136 people have been cured due to the recovery of 52,847 people in the country. There were also cases of death of 478 people in one day. The contribution of eight states in these was 84.52 percent. Maharashtra had the highest number of deaths at 222 and in Punjab, 51 died from the infection.
