After Pune and Nashik, read the report of Aurangabad today, where the rate of death due to infection has been much higher than in the country. The death rate here is 1.33%, while in Maharashtra this rate is 1.73% and in the country 1.27%. Know what are the ground conditions of Aurangabad ...
Negligence led to deaths from the case and new strains
Bhaskar spoke to Dr. Satish Dhage, former deputy director of the Army's Health Service in Ulkanagari. Dr. Dhage is also a public health expert. He says that the Vidarbha strain that is currently in discussion is the reason for the increase in patients in Aurangabad. The coronavirus has changed more than 4 thousand times in a year and a half. Of these, only a few deaths are due to the increase. Unfortunately, the new strain is also one of them.
It is also called a double mutated strain, which has undergone genetic changes twice. According to Dr. Dhage, corona cases have increased in other districts including Aurangabad due to an increase in movement of people due to super spreading events, dangerous new coronavirus, and relaxation.
Crisis management, expertise, and mastery must be with the District Magistrate. If this is not the case, then experts should be consulted. Local administration should take input. The administration has failed here for the last year and a half.
Failing to take preventive measures,
Dr. Dhage says that with the increase in mortality, the administration argues that people are delaying coming to the hospital and that most of the dead are above 50-60 years of age. The question is if people are coming late, then whose lack? This is an administration failure.
Crisis management is not just about supplying oxygen to hospitals and injecting Remedesivir. The local administration failed to take infection prevention measures. There was also a decrease in public awareness and necessary public health system development.
Two stories that tell what people think of Corona
Location: Super Specialty Block, Government Medical College and Hospital (Aurangabad)
Time: Around 7.30 pm
The Super Specialty Hospital at Aurangabad Valley has been completely converted into a Kovid Center. Late in the evening when Dainik Bhaskar's team reached there, we saw that 20-25 motorcycles were parked in a small ground adjacent to the hospital boundary. Some people are also standing there. 10-12 women were sitting on the ground.
The relatives of all these people are positive who are admitted to this hospital. Leaving their suffering, they are living here like this for the last several days in the hope of recovery from their family. We talked to these people and knew what they thought about Corona.
Pramila Jadhav is a school teacher due to the increasing senselessness of the people. She lives in Jai Bhavani Nagar, Aurangabad. His 55-year-old mother, Latabai Jadhav, is corona positive. Pramila stays outside the hospital for her mother's needs. His maternal uncle comes here and stops at night. Apart from his mother, brother and nephew are also positive.
Jadhav said that we ourselves are responsible for the increase in corona cases in Aurangabad. There is confusion among many people regarding the corona test. The elderly feel that the process of sampling from the nose is painful. Most of the elderly are terrified of having this test due to this confusion. My mother also feared to test. She felt that if she turned positive, she would have to stay away from the family for 8-10 days. It is also our negligence that we cannot explain the damage caused by epidemics to our elders.
Pramila says that the people of Aurangabad have a strange sense of testing. They believe that if found positive, they will have to stay out of the house. If you had to be hospitalized, it might not even be good to return home. Most people do not undergo testing despite having symptoms of the corona. Not only this, after infecting others, when their condition becomes serious, they go to the doctor. This senselessness has increased the epidemic.
Second story: Protocol is not being followed, people are spreading infection
Gajanan Arvindrao Joshi says that my mother Pushpa Joshi (60) is hospitalized. Both of us were tested. My negative came. I initially tried to get my mother admitted to two-three private hospitals, but when she could not get a bed there, I was admitted to the Super Specialty Hospital. The Corona Protocol is not being followed in Aurangabad. People are spreading corona.
