The attitude of Indian customers to purchase vehicles has completely changed in the last few years. Where earlier people used to buy a hatchback or entry-level car in the budget, now they are turning to SUVs. Automotive companies are emphasizing sub-compact SUVs to capitalize on this segment. In this sequence, we discussed Tata's upcoming HBX sometime back. After which Mahindra is now in the headlines for its budget SUV.

The company will expand in the XUV  range: In fact, Mahindra is currently working on several new SUVs, including the XUV700 and the new-gen Scorpio. Mahindra XUV700 will replace the existing XUV500 SUV. Interestingly, Mahindra is also planning to expand the XUV range by introducing new models. According to media reports, Mahindra has trademarked the XUV900, XUV400, and XUV100 with the XUV700 in April 2021. It can be said that the new Mahindra XUV900 will be a premium SUV.

Micro SUV can be launched:  Simultaneously Mahindra has also trademarked the XUV100, which can be slotted under the XUV300 compact SUV. Let me tell you, if the XUV100 is launched by Mahindra, it will take on the Tata HBX, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and the upcoming Hyundai AX1. Although the company has not yet confirmed any such, it will introduce a micro SUV in the market.

Price will be extremely low:  While Mahindra has officially announced that it will focus solely on premium SUVs. And the XUV300 will be the entry-level offering of the brand. But there are few indications about the trademarked XUV100 name. For the time being, do not say much, let me tell you that if this car will be launched in India, then its price will start around 5 to 6 lakhs.
