The corona epidemic in Pakistan is becoming increasingly uncontrollable. The government is getting worried about this. The current rate of corona infection in Pakistan has reached 7.6 percent. According to government statistics, on 15 February 2021, there were 958 new cases of corona infection in Pakistan on a single day, while now it has increased to 4976. The total cases of corona infection in the country has increased to 750158. In these, an increase of about three and a half percent has been registered during seven days. Similarly, 654956 patients have been cured in the country so far and 16094 patients have died due to corona infection. The most corona-infected patients have been reported in Sindh since 31 January in a single day.
It is worth noting that a few days ago, Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Secretary of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that people are becoming careless about the Kovid-19 epidemic. Because of this, the infection is spreading rapidly. According to him, people are not following the guidelines given by the government and are roaming the streets without a mask. The same is true of markets. Due to this, the pace of infection in the country has increased rapidly.
Let us tell you that in early February 2021 in Pakistan, the government started vaccination against the corona epidemic. It started after receiving around 5 lakh doses of China's vaccine synovic for free. Pakistan's vaccination program is in fact based on a vaccine donated by other countries and the World Health Organization's Kovacs scheme.
The World Health Organization will supply vaccines to more than 170 countries under the Kovacs Plan. It has started in the African country of Ghana. However, it may take some more time for Pakistan to get the vaccine under this scheme. This is due to the decrease in the production of vaccines. The vaccine provided under Kovacs is being produced in a few places. Due to various restrictions imposed on it abroad, its production is delayed. The World Health Organization has warned the world about this many times. At the end of March, it was said that Pakistan would buy about seven million doses of Corona vaccine from China. Earlier Pakistan had said that it would not buy any dose of the Corona vaccine. On behalf of the government, it was said that they hoped that Pakistan's friendly countries would provide them with vaccine donations and this would help in increasing herd immunity in the country. It was also said by the government that for this, 70-90 percent of people will have to be given vaccines.
According to the government, Pakistan received a consignment of half a million corona vaccine doses from China in early April, with a dose of the Sinoform vaccine. Apart from this, Pakistan has also received 60 thousand doses of Chinese Cansino Vaccine. Eight lakh doses of Corona vaccine have been given in Pakistan so far. Among those who received them were Health workers besides Senior Citizens. Now the corona vaccine is to be given to people between the ages of 50-59 in Pakistan. It will begin on April 21, according to the National Command and Operation Center.
