In the fight against Corona, the railways have once again been geared up. At a time when there are complaints of lack of oxygen from many states of the country, Railways has planned to run Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) and Oxygen Express to carry oxygen cylinders. According to the report of the news agency PTI, green corridors are being built to run these trains at uninterrupted speed. The Railway Ministry has said in its official statement that empty tankers from Maharashtra will run on Monday to pick up oxygen from Visakhapatnam, Jamshedpur, Rourkela, Bokaro.
An official said the first empty tanker would run on April 19. Oxygen Express is expected to start operations in the next few days. Wherever there is a demand for medical oxygen in the country, we will be able to send oxygen. A green corridor is being built for faster movement of Oxygen Express trains. On April 17, a meeting was held between railway board officials and state transport commissioners, and industry representatives on issues related to the transportation of liquid medical oxygen, according to the news agency PTI.
The news agency PTI has quoted a railway official as saying that instructions have been issued to the zonal railways to acquire the oxygen trailers and load them promptly. Ramps for supply of oxygen are to be built at Vizag, Angul and Bhilai. The Railway Ministry has said in its statement that the Kalamboli ramp will be ready by April 19. The ramps at other places will be ready in a few days. Explain that the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra had requested the railways to find out whether the railways can carry liquid medical oxygen tankers.
