The second wave of the Corona epidemic is spreading very rapidly. This can be gauged from the fact that the rate of infection has doubled in just 12 days. In the last 1 month, the weekly infection rate has also increased to 13.54 percent. More than 2.5 lakh new cases have been reported for the second consecutive day and more than 15 hundred deaths have taken place. The number of total infected has also exceeded one and a half crore. The active cases have exceeded 19 lakhs.

Infection rate doubled in 12 days

According to the Union Health Ministry, the rate of daily infection in the country has increased from eight percent to 16.69 percent in 12 days. At the same time, the rate of weekly infection has increased from 3.05 percent to 13.54 percent during a month, which means it has increased more than four times. The rate of weekly infection is the highest in Chhattisgarh at 30.38 percent.

2,71,204 new cases found in 24 hours

According to late night data from states and union territories, 2,71,204 new cases have been received in the last 24 hours, 1,42,150 patients have been cured and 1,570 more have died. With this, the figure of total infected has exceeded one crore 50 lakh 54 thousand. Out of these, over one crore 29 lakh 47 thousand patients have been cured and 1,78,743 people have lost their lives so far. 

19,21,738 active cases 

Active cases have increased to 19,21,738. The last 50 million cases have increased in four months. Whereas, it took about seven and a half months for the number of infected to go from one to 50 lakhs and about three months from 50 lakh to one crore. In the data updated by the Ministry of Health at eight in the morning, the total number of infected people was 1.47 crore. Of these 1.28 crore patients have been cured and 1,77,150 people have lost their lives.

The situation is deteriorating rapidly in many states

Things are deteriorating rapidly in Maharashtra as well as in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. New cases are increasing rapidly in these states. In the last one day, 68,631 cases have been found in Maharashtra, 30,566 in Uttar Pradesh and 25,462 in Delhi. 19,067 new infections have been detected in Karnataka.

The number of dead in Maharashtra is more than 60 thousand

In Maharashtra, 503 more patients have died and the total death toll has gone up to 60,473. Apart from this, 170 patients in Chhattisgarh, 161 in Delhi, 127 in Uttar Pradesh, 110 in Gujarat, 81 in Karnataka, 68 in Punjab, 66 in Madhya Pradesh and 42 in Tamil Nadu have died due to this epidemic.

15.66 lakh samples tested on Saturday

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 1566394 samples were tested across the country on Saturday to detect corona infection. Together, a total of more than 26.65 crore samples have been tested so far.

78.56 percent new cases in 10 states

According to the ministry, 78.56 percent new cases have been reported in 10 states and union territories only. These states are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. There have also been 82.94 percent new deaths in 10 states and union territories. The maximum of these deaths were 419 in Maharashtra and 167 in Delhi.

Not a single death in these nine states

In nine states, no one has died due to corona infection in the last one day. These states are Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Mizoram, Manipur, Lakshadweep, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
