A sub-inspector of the district police has been abducted by the Naxalites from the Gangalur police station area of the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The kidnapped sub-inspector has been named Murali Tati. He was posted at Police Line Jagdalpur. This has been confirmed by SP Kamalochan Kashyap of Bijapur. The fair has been organized in Palanar village of Gangalur police station area. It is being told that this is Tati's home village. He came to his village on the occasion of the fair. Two years ago he became a Sub Inspector after getting a promotion.
It is worth mentioning that there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Bijapur on 3 April. 22 soldiers were martyred in this incident. After the encounter, the Naxalites kidnapped CRPF jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas. The Naxalites had placed a condition of arbitrator appointment before the government for the release of the abducted jawan Manhas.
Later this jawan was freed from the occupation of Naxalites with the help of social workers. The Naxalites had called the Adivasis from 20 villages in the jungle to release the jawan and handed over the jawan to Gandhian activist Dharampal Saini and Gondwana Samaj chief Muraiya Tarem in the midst of a huge crowd.
Inspector injured in IID blast in Narayanpur here
Inspector Sunil Kumar Suthwal of the 53rd Battalion Bassing Camp was injured by the IED (pressure bomb) during a patrolling on Wednesday at Kundala under Basinga police station in Abujhmad in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district. After first aid, he has been referred to Raipur. According to the information received from the police, in the Basing police station area, about 20 km from the district headquarters, the pressure of a pressure bomb planted by Naxalites arrived in the morning. A cattle grazing nearby was also killed by a pressure bomb explosion.
