Today, the Supreme Court held an important hearing on the growing cases of Corona in the country. The central government has filed its affidavit in the court that the Supreme Court had asked the Government of India for a national plan to deal with Corona, which has been heard today. Explain that in the midst of the growing crisis in the country, the court had asked the Central Government to plan on all subjects like the supply of vaccines, the supply of oxygen, supply of medicines.
The court cannot remain a mute spectator - the court
The Supreme Court said that the court cannot remain a mute spectator at this time of national crisis arising out of Corona. This hearing is not meant to stop the ongoing hearing in the High Court, the High Court can understand the local situation better. The court said that it is important for us to intervene on the national issue. Along with this, the court has sought information from the central government on medical facilities, oxygen supply and vaccination programs.
Court said - what is the Center doing at the cost of vaccination
During the hearing, Judge SR Bhatt said that the doctors of the Army, Railways are covered under the Center. In such a case, can they be used in quarantine, vaccination and others. What is the national plan on this? Vaccination is very important in the growing cases of corona, what the Center is doing at the cost of the vaccine. If it is not a national emergency, then what is it? In fact, during the hearing in the court, there was an objection from Rajasthan, Bengal on the different price of the vaccine.
Supreme Court approves production of oxygen at Sterlite plant
The Supreme Court has approved the production of oxygen at the Sterlite plant of Vedanta. In view of the Corona crisis, the Supreme Court has issued an order to produce oxygen, as well as the Supreme Court has constituted an expert committee. This committee will decide how many people are needed within the plant. Vedanta will produce medical oxygen at this plant. Through this, free oxygen will be available.
In fact, a petition was made to open the Vedanta Sterlite plant in Tamil Nadu, which had been closed for three years. On behalf of Vedanta, Senior Advocate Harish Salve told the Supreme Court that Vedanta wants to start only the Oxygen plant at Starlight plant.
The Supreme Court said that this is a national disaster
During the hearing on the matter, the Supreme Court said that this is a national disaster. There should not be political strife between the central and state governments. Saying this, the Supreme Court has allowed Vedanta to start only the oxygen plant at the Tuticorin copper plant. It is worth mentioning that before this hearing, the Tamil Nadu government gave permission to partially open the Sterlite plant at Tuticorin in Vedanta.
Let me tell you that a bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice L Nageswara Rao and Justice Ravindra Bhat heard the case on acute shortage of oxygen in hospitals regarding Corona. Justice Chandrachud asked senior advocate Salve when you can start the plant. Harish Salve said that the oxygen plant will be started within 10 days. At the same time, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta also presented the Central Government's side in front of the court.
