On the occasion of International Labor Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced two schemes to provide social security cover to two crore workers of Uttar Pradesh. Under the first scheme, in case of death or fracture or permanent disability of a worker in an accident, he will be provided with a security insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh. The same large number of health insurance cover up to Rs five lakh will be provided to the workers who were left out of the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was interacting with workers and labor organizations through the virtual medium at his government residence on Saturday. CM Yogi appealed to the workers to play an active role in the Navnirman of the country by defending themselves and family from Corona.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that during the second wave of Covid-19, the system of distribution of free food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana will start from May 5. During the Kovid last year, 54 lakh soldiers were given maintenance allowance, they were given employment and other facilities to more than 40 lakh migrant workers. To provide free residential education on the CBSE pattern to the children of construction workers, he referred to the Atal Residential School Scheme to be started at 18 divisional headquarters of the state. It was also informed that the children of laborers will get the facility of free coaching for preparation of competitive examinations under Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that industrial units will continue to operate during the weekly corona curfew. Arrangements of Kovid helpdesk have been made there so that workers do not face any kind of inconvenience. The government will ensure that there is no obstruction in the movement of workers. Instructions have been given to arrange sanitizer, thermal scanning, pulse oximeter, etc. for workers at worksites to prevent infection of Kovid. While advising workers to take control of the corona by vigilance and avoidance, Yogi motivated them to get corona vaccination. He informed about the arrangements made by the state government in the ongoing war against Corona infection.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also interacted with some workers. These included Gautam Baghel of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kedarnath Yadav of Ayodhya, Sonpal and Ashok Kumar of Agra and Arun Kumar and Deepak Kumar Verma of Prayagraj. The Chief Minister asked him whether he was getting the benefit of the schemes being run by the state government for the welfare of the workers? Everyone responded positively to this. The virtual dialogue program was also attended by Labor and Employment Minister Swami Prasad Maurya, Minister of State for Labor Manohar Lal Corey and Additional Chief Secretary Labor Suresh Chandra.
