A hearing was held in the Supreme Court today on the issue of oxygen supply in all the states including Delhi. The Supreme Court said that the global epidemic of Kovid in Delhi is in a very serious phase and with that, it sought details from the Center about the oxygen supply done in the last three days. The Supreme Court said, "The officials of the Center and Delhi should talk to the officials of Mumbai in the next three days and take these necessary steps based on the experiences gained from them." We will also see in the hearing on Monday whether a scientific audit is needed to lead the unbiased experts to improve the supply of oxygen. Let us know that the continuous hearing of the ongoing oxygen crisis in Delhi was going on in the Delhi High Court, but now on Wednesday, the Central Government moved the Supreme Court.
Center reprimanded by Supreme Court
On the formula of the Central Government, Justice Chandrachud said that this entire formula is only on conjecture. The situation may be different in every state. Each district can be different. States are peaking at different times. In such a situation, you cannot calculate only one way. The situation is very bad in Delhi at the moment. You have to tell us what you did on 3, 4, 5 May. The Center says that they have given 433 mt on 3 May, 585 mt oxygen on 4 May. During the hearing, Justice Chandrachud questioned the Center how much oxygen you have given to Delhi. He also asked how the Center said in the High Court that the Supreme Court did not order 700 MT oxygen supply to Delhi. The central government told the court that there was not much demand for oxygen before April, But now it has suddenly increased. In such a situation, the Supreme Court said that it is the responsibility of the Center to follow the order. Put failed officers in jail or be ready for contempt but Delhi will not get oxygen from it, it will be available only by working.
Figures found at the center in the morning, evening, and afternoon
Justice Chandrachud said that the Center should provide data every morning, evening, and afternoon. A virtual control room must be used. Which hospital is getting so much oxygen, this hospital and people should all know. When the matter is heard again on the 10th, the state government will take stock of the preparations.
Delhi's demand is more: Center
In the Supreme Court hearing on the oxygen crisis, the central government told the court that the demand of Delhi is high, according to which the resources are needed. In the court, Justice Shah remarked that it is a national disaster, due to lack of oxygen, people have died. The Center is trying on its behalf, but there is a shortage, so tell us your plan.
Committee set up to monitor oxygen supply: Solicitor General
On behalf of the Center, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, 'I suggest that a committee be set up in which fair experts are included. It should also have some officers from the Center and Delhi. This committee should present a report related to the need to immediately rectify the problems and problems in the supply of oxygen before the Supreme Court on Monday.
There will be no benefit from putting officers in jail: SC
The Supreme Court also said that nothing will happen by putting the officers in jail, but we have to ensure that lives are saved. Justice Chandrachud suggested on the shortage of oxygen in the capital Delhi to arrange for its distribution in a scientific manner. BMC in Mumbai has done a great job in the Corona era, so Delhi should learn something. Hearing the case, the Supreme Court said, "We intend not to take contempt action against the officers because we are aware that the officers are working day and night." The nodal agency officer gave detailed information to the court despite being infected. There is no benefit from punishing the officials. ' The court asked for details to increase oxygen supply in Delhi by evening. The court said, "Tell us by evening how the supply will increase in Delhi."
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, 'It is unfortunate that the Delhi High Court has initiated a contempt process while the Center and all the officials are doing a better job in this matter. The Solicitor General placed the matter before CJI Ramna. He said that the bench of Justice Chandrachud would look into the matter. In fact, the Delhi High Court asked the officials monitoring the oxygen supply to all the states including Delhi to be present during the hearing today.
