In view of the deteriorating situation in the capital Delhi, the army appointed a nodal officer to help the Delhi government. Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma, appearing for the Central Government, told the bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli that the nodal officers would help the Delhi government in other needs including transportation of cryogenic tankers to install. The central government had earlier said before the bench that the army is engaged in helping at various levels from Delhi to the country at its level. In such a situation, it will not be possible to help the army in Delhi right now.

Considering the deteriorating situation in Delhi, a continuous discussion was being held in the Delhi High Court about getting the help of the army. On the suggestion of Adalat Mitra and other senior advocates, the Delhi High Court had asked the Delhi Government to consider it with the Central Government. On the court's stand, Delhi Government Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had written to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and sought the army's help. Senior advocate Krishnan Venugopal also suggested to the bench regarding seeking help from the army. He had said that the Army can solve the problem of oxygen by building a field hospital.
