Under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government has stepped up its preparations to vaccinate all the people above 18 years of age in three months. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that we are going to increase the vaccination center from 100 to 250-300 for the age group of 18 to 45 years. If we get 80 to 85 lakh vaccines per month, then we can apply the vaccine to everyone in three months. We are very short on vaccines. So far we have received about 4 million vaccines. Out of the 20 million population of Delhi, there are about 15 million people above the age of 18 years and about 26 million vaccines are needed for their vaccination. CM said that people from Faridabad, Sonipat, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, and Noida are also getting vaccinated in Delhi and they like the arrangement here. The vaccine itself is a safety cycle, Which can save us from the third wave. I request that the Central Government should also provide vaccines in appropriate quantity in the same way as the Central Government has been helping so far.
People are very happy with the arrangement made for vaccination in schools
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today addressed an important press conference on the ongoing Corona vaccination campaign in Delhi. The Chief Minister said that the vaccination campaign against Corona in Delhi is going on very loudly. Ever since the vaccination of people below 45 years has started in the last few days, there has been tremendous enthusiasm among our youth especially about vaccination. This vaccination campaign has been started in Delhi schools. I myself have visited many places to see that many young people are coming for vaccination and getting vaccinated. People are also very happy about the arrangement that the government has made at the vaccination center. Right now we have arranged vaccination within about 100 schools and now we are going to increase it to 3 times. In the coming time, about 250 to 300 schools in Delhi will arrange vaccination.
People also coming from Faridabad, Sonipat, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Noida
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that roughly one lakh vaccines are being installed daily inside Delhi. 50 thousand vaccines are being given to people below 45 years of age and about 50 thousand vaccines are being given to people above 45 years of age. In this way, roughly one lakh injections are being administered daily in Delhi. CM said that a lot of people are coming from outside Delhi and getting vaccinated. In this, people from nearby areas including Faridabad, Sonipat, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Noida are coming and getting vaccinated and they too like the system inside Delhi.
If we get enough vaccine, then we can apply vaccine to everyone in three months
The Chief Minister said that the biggest problem facing us today is that there is a shortage of vaccine in Delhi. If we get sufficient dose of vaccine, then as I have said repeatedly that we want to vaccinate the whole of Delhi within three months. The people of Delhi also want it and the Delhi government wants it too. If we get the vaccine in full, then we can apply the vaccine to everyone in three months. How many vaccines do we need to complete vaccination in three months? The CM said that the population of Delhi is roughly 20 million. Very roughly one crore people are between 18 and 45 years of age. 5 million people are under 18 years of age, while 5 million people are over 45 years of age. In this way, people above the age of 18 years became about one and a half crores. 5 million people are under 18 years of age and the remaining 15 million people are above 18 years of age. These 1. If 5 crore people want to apply two dose vaccines, then we need 30 million vaccines. Out of the three crores, the Delhi government has received around 40 lakh vaccines in total.
2.60 million vaccines needed and 80 to 85 lakh vaccines per month
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi needs 2 crore 60 lakh more vaccines now. In three months we need 26 million vaccines. Roughly 80 to 85 lakh vaccines per month are required for the next three months. If 80 to 85 lakh vaccines are made available to us for the next three months, then every person in Delhi can be vaccinated within three months. To apply 80 to 85 lakh vaccines every month, we have to apply three lakh vaccines every day. We are already putting one lakh vaccines in 100 schools. If we are going to increase it to 300 schools, then we can do our capacity with 3 lakh vaccines every day very comfortably and there is no problem in this. Now that we have started the system and we know how to do it and are going to do it in the next few days, So Delhi government can apply 3 lakh vaccines daily. If we get 80 to 85 lakhs per month vaccine in appropriate quantity, then we can vaccinate the entire Delhi within 3 months.
5 to 6 days vaccine left with Delhi
Kejriwal said that we are particularly concerned about the children. Currently, children and young people under 18 years of age may not be able to take this vaccine. I appeal to all the experts and the central government to arrange for a vaccine as soon as possible, so that they can be given vaccines, they can also be vaccinated. Today, we have a vaccine of 5 to 6 days left in Delhi, which we are putting in full speed. I expect that vaccines will be provided to the people of Delhi in reasonable quantities at the earliest.
