After the election results in Bengal, the phase of violence continues unabated. One person was killed and six others were injured in a clash between Trinamool Congress and BJP workers in Birbhum district. A police official said that the incident took place in Muktinagar village under Dubrajpur assembly constituency when a group of BJP activists tried to barge into the homes of villagers on Friday night. The official said Trinamool Congress members present nearby came to rescue him and clashed with BJP workers, killing one person and injuring six others. The injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital in Suri.
Earlier on Thursday, the state BJP claimed that two more of its cadres were brutally murdered during the last 24 hours. Apart from this, BJP workers and their homes have also been attacked in various places of the state. A statement from the state BJP said that 22-year-old Balaram Majhi was brutally attacked and killed by goons of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) at Ketugram in the East Bardhaman district. Apart from this, Vishwajit Mahesh, the head of BJP's Shakti Kendra, was killed by Trinamool goons in the Ghatal Assembly constituency of the West Medinipur district.
Apart from this, the house of BJP candidate Rinku Naskar from Kolkata's Jadavpur assembly constituency has also been attacked. Apart from this, it has been claimed by the party that the houses of about 500 BJP workers in the Minakhan and Bamanpukur area of North 24 Parganas have been attacked and heavily damaged. To save lives, BJP supporters from many villages have left home and fled. Two days ago, BJP President JP Nadda claimed that at least 14 BJP workers have been killed in violence since Sunday's election results, while close to one lakh people have been forced to leave their homes.
At the same time, the death toll has increased to 16 after the murder of two more BJP workers. On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while giving this to the BJP conspiracy to discredit Bengal, said that half of the people who died in the violence belonged to the Trinamool.
