Senior health leader of Samajwadi Party and Rampur MP Azam Khan, who was admitted to Medanta Hospital late on Sunday after being infected with Coronavirus, has worsened. He was shifted to ICU on Monday. The status of his admitted Corona-infected son Abdullah is said to be stable. According to Medanta's medical director, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor, Azam Khan is in need of ten liters of oxygen per minute. Due to this, they are being shifted and treated at ICU under the supervision of the Critical Care Team.
A bulletin issued on Monday by Lucknow Medanta Hospital said that at 9 pm on Sunday, 72-year-old Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan and his son Mohammad Abdullah were admitted to Medanta Hospital for being corona positive. On Monday, MP Azam Khan was having more difficulty in taking oxygen, he is needing 10 liters of oxygen per minute. In view of this, the critical care team has shifted MP Azam Khan to ICU, while the condition of his son Abdullah is satisfactory.

According to the information received, the officer was asking Azam Khan to be admitted to Lucknow Sanjay Gandhi PGI, but Azam Khan refused to be hospitalized out of jail. On this the father-son was admitted to Medanta Hospital.
SP MP Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam are lodged in Sitapur District Prison since February 27, 2020. During this time he also went to Rampur on several occasions. For the last two months, the spread of corona infection was intensifying, he was being produced online from the District Prison. The jail administration says that the health of Azam Khan and his son is checked at regular intervals. On April 29, an antigen test was conducted by the Health Department team, in which both positives were found. Then his and his son's sample was sent to RT-PCR investigation. The report, dated May 1, found the father-son corona infected.
