The country is suffering from Corona. After the lockdown and strict restrictions, a large number of migrant workers from Delhi and Mumbai have started returning to their homes. Railways have also run many special trains for the facilities of passengers during the Corona period. In the midst of all this, the Railways decided to postpone the train services in the Kashmir Valley for 6 days on Monday in view of the deteriorating condition of Covid-19.
An official of the Northern Railway said, "Train services between Banihal-Baramulla section will be suspended from May 11 to May 16 in view of the deteriorating condition of Covid-19 in Kashmir."
The decision to suspend services three days before the Eid-ul-Fitr festival comes amid reports that migrant laborers are using it to enter the valley to avoid the mandatory Covid-19 probe in Qazigund.
