Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the hospitalized Flying Sikh Milkha Singh and inquired about his health. He also wished Singh a speedy recovery. Singh was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research on Thursday. It is reported that due to falling oxygen level, he was admitted to the ICU.
Prime Minister Modi has expressed hope that he will recover soon and will bless the players who are participating in the Tokyo Olympics. Milkha Singh became a victim of coronavirus 2 weeks ago. After getting infected, he was on isolation and oxygen support at his home in Chandigarh. However, he was later admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali as a precaution after his health deteriorated. At the request of the family, he was discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
His son Jeev thanked everyone and informed him that his father is being well taken care of. Singh's wife Nirmal Kaur is also undergoing treatment for Kovid-19. According to the medical bulletin released on Thursday, he is still in the ICU. Singh was awarded the Padma Shri, the country's fourth-highest civilian award, for his achievements in the field of sports.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh also wished the great sprinter a speedy recovery after the news of his getting infected on 24 May. According to the language, he had tweeted, "Wishing a speedy recovery of 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh who has been admitted to the hospital in Mohali for Kovid-19 treatment. Get well soon sir.
