According to Jankati, on the night of September 2017 on the occasion of the Karam festival, illegal liquor merchants Singhania brothers Prahlad Singhania and Naresh Singhania had launched a large consignment of spurious liquor in the market of Ranchi. More than 22 people had died after consuming this poisonous liquor. Many ZAP jawans were also among the dead.
After investigation, it became clear that this consignment of spurious liquor was served in the market by the Singhania brothers. After this, an FIR was registered in Namkum, Sukhdevnagar, Gonda, and Doranda of Ranchi, after which Naresh was on the run. Now he has come under the custody of the police. He can also be questioned in other cases of liquor smuggling.
Singhania was doing illegal liquor business since 2005
Singhania's black business of spurious liquor was spread in many nearby areas including Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh. In the year 2005, the illegal liquor business of the Singhania brothers came to light, after which his game of hiding and seek with the police was going on. In the same 2017, after the death of 22 people, the police tightened their grip on the Singhania brothers, after which Naresh Singhania was absconding. In the year 2017, the responsibility of investigating the death of 22 people was entrusted to the CID, after the arrest of Naresh Singhania, the CID team is also trying to get to the bottom of the case by interrogating the accused.
