The Kolkata Police has almost solved the mystery of missing more than two crore rupees without causing any damage to various ATMs in Kolkata. In the interrogation of four people arrested in this case, the police got sensational information. Recently, Kolkata Police had arrested Manoj Gupta, and Naveen Gupta from Surat in Gujarat and Bishwadweep Raut and Abdul Saiful Mandal from Kolkata.
It has been told that in ATMs where there were no security guards, these people used to steal money with the help of a device called the black box. All four are around 30 years old. During interrogation, the accused told that they had obtained the black box device from abroad with the help of the dark web. Through the same black box, the ATM was disconnected from the bank's server and the money was easily withdrawn.
With the help of black box used to withdraw money like this
Earlier criminals used to open the cover of ATMs. After this, a special device was set in the USB port of the ATM machine. This device also acts as a black box. After connecting the black box to the device, these people used to control the cash tray of the ATM. Then the ATM software was hacked. At that time, Maintenance Mode or Out of Service was visible on the screen. During this time the black box was controlled through mobile. After this, the money used to come out as soon as the gate cash button was pressed and in this way, they were missing money from the ATM without any sabotage and did not leave any evidence.
Clues found from CCTV
One of the arrested accused, Bishwadweep Raut, a mobile businessman of the town, was searched by the police through CCTV footage. During the investigation, it was found that during this time a huge amount was deposited in his bank account. It was only with the help of Vishwajeet that other vicious men could be reached.
