10th June, 2021
Today both Shani Jayanti and Solar Eclipse are together. This is a rare coincidence which is made after about 148 years. This is the first solar eclipse of the current year. In India too, the religious significance of the eclipse is very high. Talking about India, the solar eclipse falling today i.e. on June 10 will be visible only in Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh. It will start at 1.42 pm and end at 6.41 pm. This solar eclipse can be seen in other parts of the world. It will be visible in parts of Europe and Asia, Greenland, North America, northern Canada, and Russia. Greenland, Russia, and Canada will see this complete annular, and residents will be able to see the wonderful view of the Ring of Fire. At the same time, only a partial solar eclipse will be visible in most of Europe and North Asia.
Let us tell you that the sight of the Ring of Fire is visible when the moon completely covers its light by coming in front of the sun. After this, when the sun slowly emerges from behind it, the glow emanating from it looks like a diamond ring. This is what is called Ring of Fire. Significantly, a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun and all three are in the same line.
Talking about the religious significance of solar eclipse in India, this Vat is being observed on the day of Savitri Vrat, Shani Jayanti and Jyeshtha Amavasya. It means that religiously four big things are happening on this day. However, eclipse is not considered good in India. That is why no auspicious work is done on this day. The sum of eclipse on Shani Jayanti is being formed after about 148 years. The first such coincidence happened on 26 May 1873. However, Sutak is not valid in this solar eclipse.
This is because it is not visible in India and where it is visible, it is partially visible there. Sutaks are valid where the eclipse is visible. Cooking or eating food at the time of eclipse is not considered auspicious. Apart from this, new and demanding works are also not done on this day. It is also not considered auspicious to touch the idol at the time of eclipse, nor is it considered good to touch the Tulsi plant. According to astrology, it is also advised to avoid sleeping at the time of eclipse.
