Terrorists attacked a Naka party of security forces in south Kashmir's Litar Shopian. The Naka party retaliated by defending itself. There was fierce firing on each other from both sides for about five minutes. After this, the terrorists fled from there. There is currently no information about any damage in this attack.
Police sources say that the terrorists carried out the attack from an ambush. It is fortunate that the soldiers were not harmed in this firing. However, only after the terrorist attack, the security forces, taking their positions, started firing on the terrorists. Meanwhile, additional security forces were also called in. As soon as the terrorists saw additional units of SOG, Army, and CRPF reaching the spot, they fled. Security forces have surrounded the entire area.
The terrorists who attacked the Naka party are hiding in the Litar Aglar area along the highway. The security forces have cordoned off the area and set up special checkpoints on the entry and exit points in the area. Vehicles coming and going are being searched and people are also being questioned. Security forces say that terrorists are likely to be present in the area itself. If terrorists are not found in the surrounding area, they will go door-to-door to investigate people.
At the same time, no terrorist organization operating in Kashmir has claimed responsibility for this attack. Three to four terrorists are feared to be involved in the attack. Security forces have also appealed to the people to inform them immediately if they see any suspicious.
