All the passengers on board the IndiGo flight coming from Kannur to Karnataka narrowly escaped. In fact, the tire of the flight burst during landing at Hubli Airport in Karnataka on Monday evening. However, all the passengers and crew members aboard are safe. Information was given by the airline on Tuesday. The airline said that at present the aircraft has been taken for a maintenance check-up. Indigo flight 6e-7979 was going from Kannur to Hubli. The incident happened during the landing on Monday evening. All passengers are safe. The airline issued a press release on Tuesday.
According to an airline official, the flight attempted a landing at 8:03 pm on Monday but it could not be possible due to strong wind from the opposite direction. After about half an hour it could land.
The officer further said, “The trouble in landing and strong wind from the opposite direction probably caused the incident of tire burst. All the passengers on board the plane landed on their own and the runway was made ready for take-off at 2 pm. He also informed that the aircraft operations are now normal. The Air Traffic Controller was informed about the incident.
Earlier in the month of June 2017, the same incident had happened with an IndiGo aircraft, the only difference is that the tire burst not at the time of landing but while taking off. In fact, the tire of an Indigo plane that left for New Delhi from Patna burst while taking off. It was a matter of relief that all the passengers survived safely. However, this affected the flights of other aircraft.
