However, some updates can definitely be seen in the cabin. According to some media reports, the company can launch this car in AWD (All Wheel Drive) version. Because one of the upcoming rivals of this car, the Mahindra XUV700 will be offered with the option of an all-wheel-drive system. Or it is possible that the company is also testing the petrol engine of Tata Safari.
Engine Options and Transmission: Tata Motors currently offers the Safari SUV with only one engine option. That includes a 2.0-liter Kyrotec turbocharged diesel motor. The motor generates a maximum power of 168 bhp at 3,750 rpm and a peak torque of 350 Nm between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. Its transmission options offer a choice between a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic.
Tata Safari is currently available in six trims XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ+ with prices starting from Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 21.81 lakh (ex-showroom). Last month, Tata Motors was able to sell 1,536 units of the SUV despite restrictions imposed across the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
