There is great news for more than 21 lakh candidates who have passed the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to make the UPTET certificate valid for life on the lines of the Centre. During the review meeting on Wednesday, he directed that as per the guidelines of the Government of India, the certificate of UP TET should be given lifetime validity. Once the test is passed, there will be no need to re-appear. Notification should be issued in this regard. For admission to D.El.D. course, the existing system should be kept in force.
In fact, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had announced on June 3 that the certificates issued from TET 2011 would be lifelong. Earlier, the certificate was valid for seven years and only for life in 2020. After the statement of the minister, the possibility of it being valid for life in UP also increased. The examination regulatory authority Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj had also sent its proposal. Now Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to issue a notification for this. This step will bring special relief to those candidates, who were preparing for re-examination after the completion of the certificate period. UP TET certificate is valid for five years only.
After the announcement of Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank regarding TET, on June 9, NCTE i.e. National Council for Teacher Education has issued a release in this regard. In the 50th meeting of the National Counseling, it has been decided that the TET certificates will be valid for life from 2011 till now. State governments can also take a decision in this regard. After the order was issued from the center, the government had also sought a proposal in this regard from the examination body. The Examination Regulatory Authority Office Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj had sent it to the government.
Let us inform that Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test has been conducted once in a year. Eight examinations have been conducted in ten years and more than 21 lakh candidates have been successful in them. Till now the UPTET certificate is valid for five years only. Earlier, UPTET was not conducted in 2012 and notification for 2020 exam is expected to be released this month.
