There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to the elephant attack. In the early morning, wandering from the forest located in Rohtak, Nepal, entered Sitamarhi via Bairgania, after which the wild elephant went towards Sheohar district via Bairgania, after which it returned again to the cotton block of Sitamarhi.
To avoid the wrath of the wild elephant, the local people appealed to the administration, after which the forest department team and district administration officials reached the spot. All the efforts made so far to control the wild elephant proved to be unsuccessful. A young man narrowly escaped trying to take a photo of a wild elephant up close. The wild elephant tried to kill the young man by slamming him with a trunk. The seriously injured youths were admitted to Suppi Primary Health Center where local doctors referred them to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital after seeing their condition becoming critical.
Efforts are being made continuously to drive away the elephant through the sound of loud firecrackers, but the elephant is still running in different areas of Suppi block of Sitamarhi and continuously destroying the crops in the fields. Thousands of people are present on the spot to see the wrath of the wild elephant. All the efforts to control the elephant are proving to be unsuccessful so far. Sitamarhi Sadar SDO Satyendra Prasad told that all kinds of efforts are being made to catch the wild elephant. The administration is fully alert to ensure that life and property are not harmed by this elephant. Efforts are being made to send the elephant away from this area through the loud sound of firecrackers.
