Amid the hustle and bustle in the political circles over a possible reshuffle in the Union Cabinet, the Narendra Modi government's second term is likely to see a possible reshuffle in the Union Cabinet. Sources said the cabinet reshuffle is likely to take place this week itself. The cabinet reshuffle is likely on July 8 and BJP MPs have been asked to reach Delhi at the earliest.
However, there has been no confirmation from the party or the government regarding the cabinet reshuffle. A party insider said that BJP President J.P. Nadda, who is on a two-day visit to Himachal Pradesh, will return to New Delhi on Tuesday evening. J. P. Nadda had gone to Himachal Pradesh to attend his personal event. He is reaching Delhi today for some important work.
Sources said the prime minister is likely to hold a meeting with senior ministers and party chief Nadda in the evening before the reshuffle, but there has been no confirmation regarding the meeting. Some party functionaries claimed that several party leaders were called to reach Delhi, who are expected to be inducted into the cabinet. Following the party's instructions, former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Scindia are reaching Delhi today.
Sources are claiming that Jyotiraditya Scindia may be included in the Modi cabinet, as Jyotiraditya Scindia was traveling in Indore in Madhya Pradesh, which has been reduced and he is reaching Delhi in the evening. Amidst speculations, a video of late Ram Vilas Paswan's brother Pashupati Paras has gone viral, in which he is seen buying clothes for a new 'kurta' which he may wear for the swearing-in ceremony.
However, the BJP MP said that I did not get any call, but heard that the MPs have been asked to reach Delhi at the earliest. Another BJP functionary said that the leader of alliance partner Janata Dal-United (JD-U) R.C.P. Singh and Rajiv Ranjan 'Lallan' have also been asked to reach Delhi.
Since last month, there was speculation about a possible reshuffle in the Union Cabinet. PM Modi himself has reviewed the performance of the current ministers. Meanwhile, Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot has been appointed as the Governor of Karnataka. Ministers who are above 70 years of age are likely to be given other responsibilities. If sources are to be believed, Gehlot's age is about 73 years. Young faces can be included to give a new look to the cabinet.
