The eldest son of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi's elder son Chidananda has been accused. His car had an accident on Monday evening. Now he is alleged to have threatened the family of the accident victim. Relatives of the victim have also alleged that Chidanand is trying to suppress the case by using the Savadi effect. Kodleppa Boli (58), a farmer, met with an accident in a speeding luxury car on National Highway 50 near Koodalasangma Cross near Bagalkot in the north. He later died in a private hospital.
According to the information, Chidanand Savadi was returning from a trip with his friends. Relatives of the victim alleged that they tried to flee from the spot without bothering to take the victim to the hospital. He even threatened the local residents present at the spot. Boli Siddappa, a relative of the victim, said that after the accident, instead of taking the victim to the hospital, Chidananda tried to run away telling the local residents that he was the deputy CM's son.
Siddappa said that Chidananda and his friends also thrashed a local boy, who was trying to take a picture of the car and destroyed it. The family members of the victim said that later the police reached the spot and let Chidanand go from the spot. He also said that the accused and his friends damaged the number plate to avoid identification.
Chidanand Savadi has denied the allegations leveled against him. He said, 'I was coming back from a trip to Anjanadri Hills. We were traveling in two cars. At the time of the accident, I was traveling in another car. I reached the spot after my friends informed me about the accident. We helped take the victim to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died. I will talk to his family. Police is probing the accident.
