Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired a high-level meeting convened on the current stock of oxygen and its growth across the country. In this meeting held virtually, the Prime Minister also took stock of the installation of PSO (Pressure Swing Operation), Oxygen Plant, under PM CARES. In the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said, 'More than 1500 PSA oxygen plants are being set up across the country. More than 4 lakh oxygenated beds will be supported through the PSA oxygen plant provided by PM Cares. Prime Minister Modi said that the implementation of these plants should be ensured as soon as possible.
Before the third wave of the Corona epidemic, the government has made a big plan to increase the oxygen supply in the country. In this sequence, the work of improving the basic facilities related to the production and supply of oxygen is going on.
Recently, during the second wave of Covid-19, the country has faced a shortage of hospitals and all medical equipment including a shortage of oxygen. Prime Minister Modi called this review meeting in view of the possibilities of a third wave of the epidemic so that this does not happen again. Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi expressed concern over the negligence of the Corona protocol and said that a small mistake can have far-reaching consequences and weaken the fight against the pandemic.
On June 26, Prime Minister Modi discussed with the top officials about the ongoing Corona vaccination campaign and corona infection across the country. The Prime Minister had expressed satisfaction over the pace of the vaccination campaign. In the last two weeks of April and early May, there was an outcry in the country due to the shortage of medical oxygen. According to the Union Health Ministry on Friday morning, 43,393 new infections were identified in India and 911 deaths were recorded during the last 24 hours. At the same time, 44,459 recoveries were also recorded during this period. There are currently 4,58,727 active cases in the country.
