Organizational reshuffle in the Trinamool Congress may take place at the district level next week. Earlier, party strategist Prashant Kishor went to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kalighat and held a meeting with her for about three hours. According to sources, the responsibility of managing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2026 assembly elections has been given to Prashant Kishor.
Let us inform you that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the rule of 'one person, one post' only last month. No minister will be appointed to the district president or any other organizational post of the party. On the other hand, Trinamool general secretary Partha Chatterjee said that this rule will be effective from district level to block level. Due to the new rules, Mamta will have to change the district president of at least four districts. Or the cabinet will have to be changed. North 24 Parganas President Jyotipriya Mallick is currently the Forest Minister.
Similarly, Pulak Roy, President, Howrah Rural, is currently in charge of the Ministry of Public Health and Technology. Soumen Mohapatra, President of Purva Medinipur is at present Irrigation Minister and Swapan Debnath, District President of East Barddhaman is Minister of Animal Resource Development. All of them have to leave one post. It has been decided by the party that as soon as these changes are made, preparations for the by-elections and municipal elections will be started.
Recently, the state government had informed the Central Election Commission that there is an atmosphere of assembly by-elections in the state, as the situation of corona in the state has been brought under control. As soon as the Election Commission announces the schedule of the by-election, the ruling camp will start preparing for the by-election. It is believed that all these issues have been kept in mind in the Mamata-Pacific meeting.
