Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual meeting today with the Chief Ministers of the eight northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram regarding the increasing cases of corona infection. The meeting will start at 11 am. Earlier on Wednesday, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba had a review meeting with the Health Secretaries of Northeast states to review the latest situation in Corona.
The central team also visited these states earlier this month in view of the increasing cases of the corona. Let us inform you that 80 percent of the cases of corona in the country are in 90 districts, out of which 14 are in the northeastern states. The positivity rate in 73 districts in the country is more than 10 percent. Of these, 46 districts are from the northeastern states. Researchers and scientists say that there is an R factor behind this. This factor shows how many people infected with corona are likely to infect other people.
