If we look at the results of the 2017 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, there are 12 seats where the voter turnout was between 40 and 50 percent.In 184 assembly seats, 51 to 60 percent voter turnout was recorded.Similarly, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there are 21 seats where the voter turnout was between 40 and 50 percent.Less than 40 percent voter turnout was recorded in one seat.The Election Commission of India has given instructions to conduct special campaigns in low-polluting assembly constituencies.For this, a detailed action plan has been asked to be prepared.Voters will be made aware to vote.For this, all the means of publicity, especially the Internet media, will also be of great use this time.
In many districts, the ratio of female to male voters is very low.By identifying such districts, special attention will be given in the upcoming voter revision campaign.Special campaigns will be run here to add more women voters.Along with making them voters, they will also be motivated to vote.At the same time, special attention will also be given to increase the number of service voters in the state.There are about three lakh service voters in the state.People working in the army or paramilitary forces are kept in the category of service voters.
Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla informed that the activities to be done under the well-planned voter education and electoral participation (Sweep) program are being finalized.Under this, an awareness campaign will also be conducted to ensure cent percent enrollment of voters of 18 years and above and their participation in voting.
