Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who went on a war footing tour of the flood-affected areas since Friday, also took stock of the water-logging situation in the Gorakhpur metropolis on Sunday.He inspected Mohripur and Raptinagar wards.During this, he directed the officials to make immediate arrangements for drainage.
While distributing relief material to the flood victims at Nuruddinchak in Mohripur, the CM said that a Garib Kalyan Mela would be organized at every block headquarters on September 25.In this fair, along with health check-ups, the poor will be benefited from all the welfare schemes.In Nuruddinchak, the Chief Minister said that in the Garib Kalyan Mela, necessary documents like caste certificates, domicile certificates would be made to the poor and they would also get the facility of getting loans from banks.
Such floods have not been seen in the last 50 years
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the increase in the water level of rivers due to heavy rains was not seen in the last 50 years.The government stands with everyone in this hour of crisis.An adequateamount of relief material is being provided to every victim.He said that several pumping stations have been set up to provide relief to the urban areas from waterlogging.The administration is also making other additional arrangements for drainage.
Instructions given to officers
After launching the cleanliness campaign at Campus School, CM Yogi inspected the problem of waterlogging in the doctors' enclave of Raptinagar ward.From the venue to the colony, he reached on foot.He instructed the officers present on the spot that PWD, GDA, and Municipal Corporation together should make a concrete and permanent action plan for drainage.Before that, immediately make a raw drain and get drainage done here so that people can get freedom from waterlogging.
