According to the news of Inside Sports.com, BCCI officials and a selector have informed about the selection of Team India. According to a BCCI source, the team will be announced based on the result of the fourth Test. If India wins the match, the team will be announced on Monday 6th September evening or Tuesday 7th September morning. A BCCI source told Inside Sports, “It will depend on the Test match. If the match ends early, then the team can be announced in the evening itself.
When asked if the team is already decided, the official replied in the affirmative. According to the source, captain Virat Kohli and the selection committee had a virtual discussion about the team's selection ahead of the fourth Test at The Oval and the team was decided during that meeting. Apart from this, the source said that the discussion was only about certain places. India already has a designated T20 squad and the discussions have been around some possible additional players in the squad. It is also learned that India will take additional members to the UAE. While the ICC will reimburse the expenses of only 15 members of the team. A team can have additional members in the form of injury and Kovid-19 cover.
Team India is expected to have a 20-member team including injury and Kovid-19 cover. Although the source did not say how many members would be in India's team, he did admit that the team is more than 15 members. However, this should not be a problem, as all the players will already be in the bio-bubble of IPA 2021 in UAE and it will be a bubble-to-bubble transfer. The source said, "You can see in the UK. The 25-man team was not enough in Sri Lanka. We had to bring in net bowlers for the T20 series. So there will be more than 15 players. And that shouldn't be a problem, because all the players will transfer from the bio bubble of the IPL to the bio bubble of the T20 World Cup."
