New Delhi. Delhi (Delhi Government)river (Yamuna Riveron clean-up plans for cleaning) is already working. Along with this, a strategy has been made to do a big work in the direction of rejuvenation and beautification of the major drains flowing in the Yamuna river. At present, there are some such drains including Najafgarh, Supplementary, and Shahdara drain which will be made clean and beautiful. Delhi's Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Satyendar Jain has also held a meeting with the officials regarding this.
Minister Satyendar Jain has said that plans for the beautification of various drains and lakes in the capital have been discussed with the officials. The Delhi government is working towards the rejuvenation and beautification of major drains flowing into the Yamuna.
Jain said that all major drains like Najafgarh, Supplementary and Shahdara drains will be converted into clean water channels again. Presently these drains are polluted due to dry garbage, sludge, and dirty water.
He directed the department to find solutions to the problems which are obstructing the improvement of the water quality of the drains. Jain clarified that the cleaning of Yamuna is the main goal of the Delhi government. Working with multiple agencies will speed up the plan.
Irrigation and Flood Control Department Minister Satyendar Jain reviewed the plan for rejuvenation and beautification of Najafgarh, Supplementary, and Shahdara drain. Satyendar Jain said that all major drains like Najafgarh, Supplementary, and Shahdara drain will be converted into clean water channels again.
The Delhi government will clean and beautify these drains. After which only clean water will flow in the drains flowing in the Yamuna. He further said that this will help in recharging the groundwater level of the area adjacent to the drains.
