The Union Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.Many important decisions were taken in this meeting.The Union Cabinet has approved the PLI scheme (production-linked incentive scheme) for the textile sector.The MSP of Rabi crops has been increased by Rs 40 to 400 per quintal.Along with this, the highest ever and remunerative price of Rs 290/quintal has been approved for sugarcane farmers.Union Ministers Anurag Thakur and Piyush Goyal informed about the decisions of the cabinet.
Anurag Thakur said that in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, an important decision has been taken regarding the Ministry of Textiles.Incentives worth Rs 10,683 crore will be provided over 5 years.Directly employment opportunities will be created for more than 7.5 lakh people.

Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal said that by taking advantage of these schemes, India will now be able to show its supremacy in the international market.By doing FTAs with developed countries also, we are trying to cover our disability in the textile trade in front of the rest of the countries.We hope this decision will produce some global champions.This will especially benefit Gujarat, UP, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana etc.
