India has once again expressed concern about the current situation in Afghanistan.India's Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council TS Tirumurti has said that the situation in Afghanistan continues to be critical and as a neighbor, we are concerned about the current situation in Afghanistan.

"We have seen a change in the situation in Afghanistan during the last month," he said.The Security Council met three times in August and discussed the current situation collectively.Tirumurti said that terrorism continues to be a serious threat to Afghanistan as seen from the reprehensible terrorist attack on Kabul airport last month.It is therefore important that the commitments made in this regard are respected and adhered to.

He said that the dreams of Afghan children have to be realized and the rights of minorities have to be protected.We call for immediate humanitarian assistance, he said.He said India calls for a system in Afghanistan in which all sections are represented.A government that has international acceptance and legitimacy.
