New Delhi.The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested three persons for allegedly supplying heroin here. Police officials said on Sunday that a total of 1.1 kg of heroin was seized, the value of which is estimated to be more than Rs 2 crore in the international market. The arrested accused have been identified as Hukum Chand (45) and Rohit (32) residents of Sultanpuri and Shahid Khan (58), residents of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh, he said.
A senior police official said that the police had received information that Hukum Chand would come to Sultanpuri's Dhan Dhan Satguru Park to supply heroin. He said that taking action on the basis of this information, the first arrest was made on August 16. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Chinmoy Biswal said that Hukum Chand was arrested and one kilogram of heroin was recovered from his possession. He said that during interrogation, Chand told that he had bought heroin from Rohit. Rohit was arrested on August 18 from the Sultanpuri area and 100 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Police said that during the interrogation of Rohit, it was found that he had bought two kilograms of heroin from Khan.
Raids are being conducted in other parts of Uttar Pradesh,
he said, adding that it was found that the Bareilly police arrested Khan on August 18 and recovered 20 kg of heroin from his possession, and he has been in jail since then. A case has been registered against him at Fatehganj East police station in Bareilly. Biswal said that the Delhi Police arrested Khan on September 1 and brought him here for investigation. Police said that during the interrogation of Khan, it was found that he is a heroin manufacturer and is assisted by his relatives and some associates. Raids are being conducted in Bareilly and other parts of Uttar Pradesh to arrest Khan's associates, he said.
