Mahasamund.In the Mahasamund forest range, the deteriorating Dantail elephant has created havoc. The angry elephant crushed two people to death in two incidents one after the other. This has created an atmosphere of panic in the area. People have been asked to be alert by getting Munadi done in the villages of the Forest Department. At the same time, the families of both the deceased who were killed by elephants have been given a primary compensation amount of Rs 25-25 thousand. After preparing the case for the remaining compensation amount, it has been assured to give it soon. The Forest Department is keeping an eye on the whole matter. At the same time, anger is spread with panic among the villagers.
According to the information, the incident is being told on Saturday night. In the first incident, 3 bike riders coming from Mahadev plateau suddenly came in front of the elephant near Gorkheda. Due to this, all the three persons on the bike fell. Two people ran away from there somehow, but the elderly Raju Vishwakarma, a resident of Mahasamund sitting behind, could not run away. On this, the elephant killed the old man by slamming him there. After the incident, the elephant moved forward. Within a few hours, the same elephant crushed a young man in Jhalkhamharia Khar. This young man was consuming intoxicants while sitting with his 3 friends. Due to the arrival of the elephant in the field, two youths managed to escape there too, but the Supreme Lord could not run away. The elephant also crushed him to death on the spot. On the information, the field staff of the Forest Department has asked the people to be alert by getting Munadi in the villages. Due to the killing of two villagers by elephants in a single night, there was huge anger among the villagers towards the forest department.
DFO Pankaj Rajputis being put on alert in dozens of villages,confirming the incidents and said that the families of the deceased have been given primary compensation of 25-25 thousand. The forest department team is continuously monitoring the elephant after the incident. In view of the constant movement of elephants, Munadi is being put on alert in dozens of nearby villages.
Elephants have killed 26 people
since 2015. It is noteworthy that since 2015 till now elephants have killed 26 people in the state.In the Sirpur area of the Mahasamund forest division, there has been a lot of gathering of elephants for the last few years.So far, 30-32 people have been attacked and injured by elephants.But this is the first incident of a Dantail elephant carrying out two separate incidents in the same night.
