Faridabad [Harendra Nagar]:Taking 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles on the road can be costly.Police will seize such vehicles. On Friday, Police Commissioner Vikas Arora has given instructions to all the DCPs in this regard. The issue was also discussed through video conferencing with the higher officials of the state. He has said that no concession will be made for such vehicles.Along with confiscation of the vehicle, there is also a provision of a fine of 10 thousand rupees on the driver. There are nine to ten lakh vehicles in the district.About 20 percent of these vehicles are such that they have completed the time of 10 and 15 years.
Decision taken under new junk policy
The Commissioner of Police said that under the new scrap (junk) policy of the Central Government, 15-year-old commercial vehicles will be scrapped, that is, they are not allowed to ply on the roads.Whereas for private vehicles, this period has been fixed at 20 years. But, this rule is not applicable for those living in Delhi-NCR.According to the National Green Tribunal, a diesel vehicle produces as much pollution as 24 petrol cars or 40 CNG vehicles. The NGT has ordered the RTOs of Delhi-NCR to de-register all such vehicles.
20-year policy not applicable in Delhi-NCR
The Commissioner of Police said that if your car is registered in Delhi-NCR and the validity of 15 years is written on its registration certificate, even then if it is a diesel car then 10 years and if it is a petrol car then it will be able to run only 15 years.Apart from the national capital Delhi in Delhi-NCR, 13 districts of Haryana are Faridabad, Gurugram, Mewat, Rohtak, Sonipat, Rewari, Jhajjar, Panipat, Palwal, Charkhi Dadri along with Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Jind and Karnal. In these districts, the rule of 10 and 15 years will be applicable.
will reduce air pollution
Faridabad is one of the most polluted cities in the country.Smoke from vehicles is the main cause of air pollution.Old vehicles cause a lot of pollution. If old vehicles are removed from the roads then pollution will be reduced to a great extent.Engines of new vehicles are being designed in such a way that less amount of pollution is emitted in them.
what the officials say
Vehicle owners get their vehicles scrapped which cannot be operated.Do not get the vehicle scrapped from any private person or junkyard other than the agencies authorized by the government. This is a violation of the law.Such vehicles can be sold outside Delhi-NCR in other cities. The 20-year policy is applicable outside Delhi-NCR.

Know the economic aspect too
This policy is not good from an economic point of view. The value of commercial vehicles is not recovered in 10 years. Also, the vehicle doesn't deteriorate much in 10 years. Its pollution level also does not increase much. This policy needs improvement. If any vehicle is causing pollution then action should be taken against it.But such vehicles which are polluting even after 10 or 15 years according to the set standards, they should be exempted from the action.
