New Delhi. In Odisha's Jajpur district, three government school teachers have been suspended for submitting fake teacher eligibility test certificates. Barachana Block Education Officer (BEO) Harihar Dalai has accused three teachers- Ania Kumar Baral of Teligara Primary School, Jayanti Sahu of Akarabad Primary School of submitting fake Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) certificates to get job and salary increment. And Razia Sultana of Charingal Primary School has been suspended.
An official order from the BEO office said on Friday, "Three teachers have been suspended pending departmental action against them for submitting fake OTET certificates."
District Education Officer (DEO) Ranjan Kumar Giri said that they have lodged an FIR against the accused teachers at Barachana police station for legal action.
He said, 'We have stopped his salary and started departmental action against him as per the rules of the government. Abhimanyu Barik, an RTI activist, had sought information about teachers working in government schools in Barachana, their qualifications, and related certificates. He was told that some teachers are serving in government schools by submitting fake certificates.
Barik then drew the attention of the DEO to these illegal appointments in March this year. On the basis of the allegation, Giri started an investigation and three cases of forgery came to light in the primary schools of Barachana. During the investigation, it was also found that all the three teachers got increment on the basis of their forged OTET certificates.
