Shimla/Dharamsala.The BJP seems completely confident about the victory in the by-elections to be held in Himachal Pradesh. However, a crisis has arisen in front of him regarding ticket distribution. In fact, there is a tremendous fight for tickets in the BJP for the by-elections to be held in Mandi Lok Sabha and three assembly seats. At the same time, in the meeting that lasted till around 10 pm on Sunday, 14-member senior leaders of the BJP State Election Committee could not decide the name of one candidate each from the four seats.
Let us tell you that for the by-elections in Mandi parliamentary and three assembly seats, the Congress has finalized one name each and sent it to the Delhi High Command, but the BJP has not been able to take any decision on it yet. However, in a meeting of the BJP in a private hotel in Dharamsala, which lasted till around 10 pm, a list of the names of the contenders for the by-election has been prepared.
How many contenders from the BJP's side
the BJP State Election Committee finalized the panel of five contenders from Mandi, four from Fatehpur, three from Arki, and two from Jubbal-Kotkhai. After this, the list will be sent to the high command today i.e. on Monday. It is clear that now one name will be decided for all four seats in Delhi itself.
In the race, these people are from the BJP side.
The names of Maheshwar Singh, Brigadier Khushal Singh, Ajay Rana, Nihal Chand, and Pankaj Jamwal have been decided from Mandi Lok Sabha. While the names of Ratanpal Singh, Govind Ram Sharma, and Asha Parihar have been finalized from the Arki assembly seat. At the same time, the names of Kripal Parmar, Baldev Thakur, Rita Thakur, and Pankaj Thakur have been decided by Fatehpur. While the names of Chetan Bragta and Neelam Saraik from Jubbal Kotkhai will be sent to the panel. If sources are to be believed, a Brahmin candidate from the Mandi seat was also discussed in the meeting. It was said that apart from the sitting MLA, anyone else should be fielded in the election field. At the same time, BJP has also brainstormed on familyism and factionalism.
These people were present in the meeting Before the meeting
Under the chairmanship of State BJP President Suresh Kashyap, the top leaders of Himachal gave their views on deciding the candidates. After the feedback, it was decided to form a panel of candidates. During this meeting, BJP's National Vice President Saudan Singh, state in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, besides ministers, MLAs, and other leaders were also present. It is being told that former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal left for some work in the middle of the meeting. While former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar did not attend. At the same time, there was neither much discussion nor talk on the ministers Mahendra Singh and Govind Thakur, who were the most discussed about the ticket from Mandi parliamentary seat in the meeting. There are five contenders in the panel from Mandi. However, there is still a possibility that if there is no discussion on all the five names, then only the high command will brainstorm on the names of the ministers.
