Lucknow.In the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, the Congress government of Punjab and Chhattisgarh has also announced financial assistance for the families of farmers who were crushed to death by the car of Ashish alias Monu, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra.Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who arrived with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at Lucknow airport, expressed solidarity with the farmers and announced Rs 50 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
He has also talked about giving 50 lakh rupees to the family members of the journalist killed during the violence.Both the states will give total assistance of one crore rupees to the family of the slain farmers and journalists.The Yogi government has already announced to give Rs 45-45 lakh more government jobs.
After reaching Lucknow airport along with former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to meet the families of victims in Lakhimpur Kheri, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said, "We stand with the families of the slain farmers."On behalf of the Punjab government, I announce Rs 50 lakh each to the families of those killed, including the journalist.At the same time, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also announced financial help for the farmers.He said that 'on behalf of the Government of Chhattisgarh, I announce Rs 50 lakh each to the families of the farmers and journalists killed in the violence.'
Eight people, including four farmers, were killed in violence that erupted in the Tikonia area of Lakhimpur Kheri district on Sunday against Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's visit to Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra's native village.Apart from four farmers, BJP worker and driver of Union Minister Ajay Mishra was killed.During this, the injured journalist Raman Kashyap also died the next day.A case has been registered against many people including Mishra's son Ashish in this case.
