ISSF Junior Shooting Worlds: India won all 12 medals on the last day of the ISSF Junior World Championships. India won 43 medals including 17 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze in this championship.
New Delhi.India topped the recent ISSF Junior World Championships in Lima by winning 43 medals including 17 gold.Indian shooters won all 12 medals on the last day of the top junior level competition at the Las Palmas Shooting Complex in the Peruvian capital.Vijayveer Sidhu, Rhythm Sangwan, Arjun Singh Cheema and Shikha Narwal won gold medals for India on the last day, taking the number of yellow medals to 17.Along with this, India won 16 silver and 10 bronze medals.Vijayveer bagged his third gold medal in the junior men's 25m standard pistol event with the top spot.The twin brother duo of Udayveer and Harsh Gupta won silver and bronze.Rhythm Sangwan (573) won her fourth gold of the championship with a win in the Junior Women's 25m Standard Pistol.
Manu Bhaker most successful Indian shooter
Her compatriots Nivedita Velur Nair (565) and Namya Kapoor (563) won silver and bronze medals in this event.In the junior men's 50m pistol event, India's Arjun Singh Cheema won gold while Shaurya Sareen and Ajinkya Chavan won silver and bronze.In the last event of the championship, Shikha Narwal of India won the junior women's 50m pistol event with a score of 530.Esha Singh (529) came second while Navdeep Kaur (526) came third.
Indian shooters won 26 out of 43 medals in the pistol category of this competition.9 medals in shotgun and 8 medals in rifle event.Olympians Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar and Manu Bhaker reaffirmed their world-class credentials with impressive performances.Manu was the most successful Indian shooter with four gold and one bronze medal.Aishwarya also set a junior world record by winning the junior men's 50m rifle three position gold.
